Should I eat before I come?

Yes, you should eat before you come because you will not be able to eat anything solid for approximately two hours after the procedure.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

If your general dentist gave you x-rays and/or a referral slip to take to Dr. Schulman, bring them with you. If not, you do not need bring anything with you. In all cases, Dr. Schulman will take x-rays of the affected area.

Do I need someone to accompany me to the procedure?

The procedure is done using a local anesthetic and should not affect your ability to function normally. If you are very nervous, or plan on taking any tranquilizers before the procedure, you should have someone accompany you. Minors, under the age of 18, do need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Will it hurt?

A local anesthetic is used to numb the area so that you will not feel anything during the procedure.

Will you be able to save my existing dental work

Dr. Schulman will make every effort to save your existing crown and bridge work. Often he can drill through the existing structure. Sometimes, this is not possible and a new crown or bridge is necessary. The final decision on how your tooth will be restored is made by your general dentist. We recommend waiting 1-2 weeks before returning to his/her office.

When is payment due and what are the accceptable forms of payment?

Payment is due at the time of your visit. In addition to cash and check we take all major credit cards. If you have insurance or need an extended payment plan, please let us know when making your appointment.
